Cecil M. Phillips (chair)
Mr. Phillips is the managing partner of Place Collegiate Properties,
Place Management Company and Place Collegiate Development Company.
Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Board of Summit Bank Corporation.
He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan.
Elder James Brown (vice-chair)
An Ordained Minister of the Gospel in the Seventh Day Adventist Church,
Elder Brown is President and Chairman of the John O'Chiles Resident
Association. His many honors include a letter of commendation from
the Mayor of Atlanta. Elder Brown served for eight years in the United
States Navy.
Eva B. Davis
Ms. Davis helped spearhead the redevelopment of East Lake Meadows
public housing and lobby Congress, the State of Georgia, and the City
of Atlanta for the program funding which today provides support services
to the residents of The Villages of East Lake. Over 30 years ago,
Ms. Davis helped organize the first tenants association in Atlanta.
Carol Jackson
Ms. Jackson is the retired executive vice president of the Federal Home
Loan Bank of Atlanta. She was appointed by the Governor to the Georgia
Department of Community Affairs, which includes the state's Housing
Finance Agency. Ms. Jackson serves on the boards of the Georgia
Affordable Housing Corporation, Reynoldstown Revitalization Corporation,
and Atlanta Habitat for Humanity.
Margarette Paulyne Morgan White
Ms. White is a community and public relations specialist for the Management
and Training Corporation. Previously, she was the Director of Public
Relations and Director of Special Events and Projects for Morris Brown
College, of which she is a graduate. Ms. White is also a life member
of the NAACP (Atlanta Chapter) Executive Committee.
Justine Boyd
Justine Boyd is chief executive officer of the YWCA of Greater Atlanta. Prior to joining the YWCA, she was the assistant general manager for external affairs with MARTA and the County Clerk for the Fulton County Board of Commissioners. Boyd is also the past president of the Atlanta Fulton County League of Women Voters, a board member of the Boy Scouts of America and is active in several other organizations around the city.
