Seasoned real estate executive to lead the agency’s housing development and investment strategy
ATLANTA – Atlanta Housing (AH) today announced the appointment of Maya Hodari as Chief Real Estate Officer, effective immediately. Hodari, who has served as Senior Vice President of Real Estate since 2022 and Interim Chief Real Estate Officer since August 2025, will oversee AH’s expansive real estate portfolio and drive the agency’s strategic housing development initiatives.
With more than 25 years of experience in affordable housing and public sector development, Hodari has been instrumental in advancing AH’s real estate strategy, leading the execution of key transactions that have expanded affordable housing opportunities across Atlanta.
“Maya brings deep expertise, steady leadership, and a proven track record of results,” said President and CEO Terri M. Lee. “She has been central to Atlanta Housing’s progress and momentum over the past three years. In just the last 18 months, she has led and played a critical role in closing 14 of the 16 development transactions in our active pipeline—an extraordinary achievement for any public housing authority. Her strategic focus and ability to deliver results have been central to Atlanta Housing’s progress and momentum. I am confident she will continue to elevate our real estate strategy as we deliver on the promise of more affordable, quality housing for Atlanta families.”
Since joining Atlanta Housing, Hodari has helped shape AH’s real estate strategy, leading the execution of key development transactions across the portfolio. Before joining AH, Hodari held senior real estate and development roles at multiple public housing authorities and was named a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Fellow in 2001.
“Atlanta Housing is a key player in shaping the city’s future,” said Hodari. “I am honored to continue this work alongside our partners and dedicated team as we deliver more high-quality, affordable homes and strengthen communities across Atlanta.”
This transition is effective October 8, 2025.
