Atlanta Housing Strategy, Policy & Regulatory Affairs Director, Projects, Ayanna Kennedy has been honored as one of the Special Districts Top 10 Technology Innovation Award winners for 2022 from Government Technology magazine. She was nominated for the Atlanta Housing Digital Inclusion Program for Low-Income Residents. The digital inclusion program was created by CIO Brian Benn and spearheaded by Ayanna.
Since the program’s inception, AH has completed three workforce cohorts with 29 residents, resulting in nine job placements and six certifications. Program graduates have an average starting annual salary of $58,000. These graduates come from a pool of residents whose average annual salary is less than $24,000. This initiative demonstrates the empowering impact that access to hardware, connectivity and digital literacy training provides. Graduating students remain eligible to attend additional training programs to expand their skills.
Ayanna has been recognized in the district’s newsletter and will also be recognized in the next issue of Government Technology. Click HERE to see the full list of 2022 winners.
