ATLANTA – Today, Atlanta Housing (AH) announced that Mayor Andre Dickens appointed Bentina Terry to the Atlanta Housing Board of Commissioners for a five-year term effective January 21, 2026.
Commissioner Terry currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Linc and Southern Telecom, Inc., where she provides mission critical LTE wireless and dark fiber networks and services to Southern Company electric utilities and to external customers. Commissioner Terry came to Southern Linc and Southern Telecom from Georgia Power, where she served as Senior Vice President of Customer Strategy and Solutions, in addition to roles of increasing responsibility since joining the company in 2001. She has also served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Georgia Power and Southern Nuclear.

Recognized for her leadership and impact across business, energy, and civic life, Commissioner Terry has been named for several consecutive years as one of Atlanta Magazine’s 500 Most Influential Atlantans, an Atlanta Business League Most Influential Woman, and one of the National Diversity Council’s 100 Most Influential Women in Energy. She has also been recognized as an Atlanta Business Chronicle Woman of Influence and Most Admired CEO, a United Negro College Fund Billy Suber Aaron Award honoree, and a Greater Atlanta YWCA Women of Achievement recipient.
Commissioner Terry is a past chair of Leadership Atlanta and serves as chair of the NC State University Foundation, Inc. Board. She also serves on the board of directors for the Cellular Telephone Industries Association (CTIA), the International Women’s Forum (IWF) Georgia, and the Competitive Carriers Association (CCA). She also on the board of directors for Mueller Water Products (NYSE: MWA).
Commissioner Terry is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and the Georgia State Bar, The Executive Leadership Council (ELC), Leadership Atlanta, Leadership North Carolina, Leadership Florida, International Women’s Forum (IWF), Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and The Links, Incorporated. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from North Carolina State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School.
